CHARITY & EVENT PARTNERS

The Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K proudly supports charities across the North Derbyshire and Sheffield Region.

Redbrik was built on an ethos of transparency, compassion and care. We’re always working to give back to the community we serve, so in 2020 we established the Redbrik Foundation to improve the lives of people and communities across South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire.

The Redbrik Foundation is a charitable trust which will support a number of local organisations each year, primarily seeking to enhance the lives of children and young people, the elderly or vulnerable and those with disabilities.

All funds raised via the Chesterfield 10K for the Redbrik Foundation will be passed to the charities that the Foundation supports.

ASHGATE HOSPICE

Whether you’re living with a life-limiting illness, caring for someone who is, or grieving the death of a loved one, we’re here to help.

We are here for the people of North Derbyshire and beyond. We work together with energy, care and compassion so that people can have a good death in a place of their choosing and know that their loved ones are important to us too.

We provide palliative and end of life care free of charge to people aged 18 and over. We care for people living with a life-limiting illness, including cancer, neurological diseases, and end-stage heart, kidney and lung diseases.

We aim to ensure that our patients are well informed, supported and pain free. While our purpose is to provide end of life care, our work doesn’t only begin at the very end of someone’s life. We can help improve quality of life soon after a terminal diagnosis. We also support people’s loved ones to ensure they get the practical, emotional and bereavement support they need.

When it comes to funding, much of the care and services we deliver are funded by the generosity of our supporters. In fact, more than 60% of what we do is paid for through fundraising and less than 40% comes from local NHS budgets.

Run for #TeamAshgate and help us to be there for families across North Derbyshire who are living with a life-limiting illness. Our crucial palliative and end of life care and support would not be possible without generous people like you. We're with you every step of the way.

BLUEBELL WOOD

The charity supports children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions from across Chesterfield, North Derbyshire and beyond, helping hundreds of families at the hospice and in their homes each year.

Bluebell Wood is very much a happy, joyful place focused on helping families make wonderful memories, whether they have weeks, months, or years together. The support services offered are wide ranging and bespoke to each family, including end of life treatment and care, respite care, music therapy, counselling, sibling support groups, home visits and much, much more.

It costs almost £14,000 each day to keep the hospice doors open for families across the region, which is £5.1m each year. With only around fifteen per cent of its funding coming from Government sources, Bluebell Wood is reliant on its fantastic supporters, fundraisers, and volunteers who all consistently go above and beyond to help the charity reach as many people who need it as possible.

CAVENDISH CANCER CARE

Cavendish Cancer Care is a local charity supporting the wellbeing of cancer patients and their families. We provide free of charge counselling and complementary therapies to anyone affected by cancer, including children, across North Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.

Our services are accessible face to face, online, and at local hospitals such as the NGS Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

As an independent charity, we only receive 4% of our income through statutory funding each year – keeping our doors open for just two weeks. The remaining 96% is raised through people like you doing extraordinary things to help the next family who needs us. Raising just £28 would fund an hour of therapy for a patient struggling with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.

Funds raised from the Chesterfield 10k will help us provide more of these sessions to families locally who are affected by cancer.
